Newstead and Ave Maria Negombo clash in final today

Newstead College Negombo and Ave Maria Convent Negombo entered the girls’ final of the All Island Inter Schools Under 15 Tennis tournament which is now in progress at SLTA courts.

At the semi-finals played yesterday Newstead beat Musaeus 3-0 while Ave Maria Convent defeated Visakha Vidyalaya Colombo with a hard-fought 3-2 win to enter the final which will be played today.

Meanwhile, Ananda College Colombo beat S. Thomas’ Mt Lavinia 3-1 in the boys’ semi-final while other semi-final between Royal and Maliyadeva Kurunegala is scheduled to be played today. (D.R)
