‘Nirpakshika Aragalakaruwo’ objects to Sarath Fonseka’s presence
A group of people participating at a meeting organized by an organization calling themselves as “Nirpakshika Aragalakaruwo” (Non-partisan People’s Revolution) in Colombo, yesterday objected to the presence of Field Marshall Sarath Fonseka at the meeting noting that he was member of the Samagi Jana Balavegaya (SJB).
The group shouted slogans objecting to the presence of Fonseka after the SJB member made a speech.
An activist speaking at the event said in the invitation for the meeting it has not mentioned that members of political parties will be invited.
While acknowledging that those involved in the ‘Aragalaya’ have divided into factions, he noted but yet there are people dedicated to the a non-partisan people’s revolution.
He also said that the ‘Aragalaya’ cannot be hijacked any political party as a large majority of people who supported it backed a non-partisan peoples movement.
