Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera has instructed the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) not to pay bonuses, incentives or salary increments for CEB employees for 2023. Taking to ‘X’, the Power and Energy Minister said that there will be no bonuses, incentives or salary increments for Ceylon Electricity Board employees.
In a letter addressed to the CEB officials including the Chairman of CEB, General Manager and other top management, the Minister has also issued a directive to discontinue the 25 percent salary increment made every three years since 2015 as well. Minister Wijesekera stated that he has issued these directives in accordance to a policy decision taken in a bid to reduce the cost of operations and administration of CEB.
