No decision on granting licenses to Indian fishermen

Fisheries Minister Douglas Devananda says that no decision has been taken so far regarding the granting of licenses to Indian fishermen for fishing activities in the Northern Seas.

He firmly stated that no decision will be taken that will affect Sri Lanka’s fishing industry.

Minister Devananda accused some parties of spreading false news among the people for their narrow selfish interests. The Minister said that breaching of the Sri Lankan Maritime Border by foreign fishing vessels too will not be tolerated.
