No obstacle to SJB MPs returning to UNP – Harin

Tourism and Lands Minister Harin Fernando said that since all MPs in the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) are members of the United National Party (UNP), they do not have any obstacle to coming back to the party fold.

Speaking to the media, he said only Dr. Harsha de Silva, MP, resigned from the UNP and no other MP resigned from the UNP.

“The SJB is a part of UNP. Therefore, all of them can join the UNP again. This will happen in time to come. People are waiting for the verdict in our case. Even if some people in the SJB are waiting to prevent some others from going back to their old home, it will not be possible.” Minister Fernando stressed that only UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe came forward to save the bankrupt country and it is everyone’s duty to support him.

The Minister also said he is requesting everyone to unite in re-appointing the incumbent President as the country’s leader at next year’s Presidential Election.
