NOCSL to promote beach VB in a big way

The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOCSL) has agreed to provide US $50,000 for the development of Sri Lanka’s beach volleyball for the next two years (2022-2024).

In addition, the NOCSL has agreed to provide the maximum support for the promotion of volleyball, the national sport of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka which has fared well recently in international tournaments has a very good chance to win in beach volleyball at the forthcoming Commonwealth Games and at South Asian Games. The NOCSL has identified beach volleyball as a sport which can bring medals for Sri Lanka at international events and feel that the grant of US $50,000 is a worthy investment for the future of the sport. President, NOCSL Suresh Subramaniam, President, Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVF) Kanchana Jayaratne, Secretary SLVF A. S. Nalaka, Secretary, NOCSL Maxwell de Silva and a group of representatives participated at this meeting, which was conducted on zoom.
