Novice monks can apply for Thai scholarships

Novice monks under the age of 18 are invited to apply for the Thailand five-year scholarship programme to study in Thailand.

Accordingly, 15 monks will be selected and around Rs. 2.5 million per year for accommodation, food and other needs will be borne by the Thai Government until the completion of the five year scholarship programme.

The selected novices will leave for Thailand next month. More details can be obtained by contacting Ven. Avissawella Waga Sri Wajirawansa Thissa Thera of Sri Abhinawarama Purana Viharaya, Porupalla, Maliboda, Deraniyagala.
