NPC wants visitors’ books at all Police Stations

0 7

The National Police Commission (NPC) has informed the Inspector General of Police that a visitors’ book should be maintained at every police station to record the information of people who come to the police stations paying special attention to the complaints received by the National Police Commission (NPC) regarding cases of non-acceptance of public complaints by the police.

The National Police Commission states that the decision to maintain a visitor’s record book is because there is nothing to actually prove that the complainant came to the police station to make a complaint during the investigation of complaints that complaints were not accepted.

Apart from this, the special attention of the Commission has been drawn to the fact that the police do not properly resort to legal procedures regarding breaches of peace and disputes where there is an imminent breach of peace such as land disputes.

The National Police Commission has notified the Inspector General with a series of instructions to be implemented in this regard.
