NPP candidate arrested after child banged against wall
A 11-year-old child had to be admitted to the hospital after a candidate vying for the upcoming Local Government Election for the Ja-Ela Urban Council under the National People’s Power ticket hit the head of the child against a wall.
The boy had been playing with three friends when the ball they were playing with , hit the wall of the election candidate.s house. Enraged by the incident, the NPP candidate dragged the boy and hit his head against the wall.
The child was later admitted to the Ragama Teaching Hospital. The child Duljith Amashan 11, said he was playing with his friends and the ball, we were playing with hit the wall of his house.The boys after being frightened by the incident had hidden in his house. “He came and dragged me near the wall and knocked my head against the wall several times”, he said. He said that he was later admitted to the Ragama Teaching Hospital. “I am having a terrible headache and it is very difficult to concentrate on my studies”, he said.
Police have arrested the suspect in connection with the incident based on his mother complaints to the Ja-Ela police.
