NPP will unite for all at an election – AKD
National People’s Power (NPP) Leader MP Anura Kumara Dissanayaka said that they will unite once and for all as a common people against the
group that is destroying the country. Addressing the National People’s Power Pelmadulla Constituency Conference on July 25, he said that an election is one of the most important democratic rights of the people. Had the election been held on March 9, a major political change that had never happened in the history of Sri Lanka would have happened, he stated.
J. R.Jayewardene, who said that Sri Lanka would become a Singapore, started to demolish the country’s manufacturing industries, he said. The NPP leader questioned as to where Sri Lanka would be today if modern technology was added and improved to the local manufacturing industries that were destroyed by showing Singapore’s economic journey.
This Government is working to sell the remaining resources of the country and this journey of the Government must be defeated. Dissanayaka said that the economic journey of the Government is to somehow survive by selling anything and earning something.
