Nuwanidu Fernando the promising batter scored 86 in 140 balls with 11 fours and a six as Sri Lanka ‘A’ scored 250 for 8 wickets when the rain halted the second days’ play against Australia A played at Mahinda Rajapaksa International cricket stadium Hambantota yesterday.
Nuwanidu Fernando who was with the National T 20 side joined with Sri Lanka A team once again among the runs with his good form.
Australia scored a formidable total of 379 all out in their first innings on day one. Sri Lankan A team still trail by 129 runs while yesterday lost 19 overs due to bad weather and the game will be continued today for the third day.
