Online applications open for 2026 GCE O/L examination from July 3

The Department of Examinations has announced that applications for the 2026 General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) Examination will be accepted online from July 3 to July 23, 2026.

In a press release, the department stated that all applications must be submitted through the online system.

Accordingly, school candidates are required to submit their application forms online through their respective school principals, while private candidates must apply online by themselves in accordance with the given instructions.

Private candidates are required to use their National Identity Card (NIC) when applying. Those who do not possess an NIC must register using the NIC of their parent or guardian.

Applicants are instructed to visit the Department of Examinations’ official websites, www.doenets.lk or www.onlineexams.gov.lk/eic, read the instructions carefully, and submit applications correctly. School applicants will use usernames and passwords provided to their school principals, and a printed copy of the completed application must be kept for reference.

The department stressed that applications will not be accepted after midnight on July 23, 2026, and the deadline will not be extended under any circumstances.
