Order on Duminda’s plea for injunction on SLFP elections today

A case filed by Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Acting General Secretary Duminda Dissanayake seeking an injunction order preventing others from disrupting the functions of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Acting Chairman Nimal Siripala de Silva and SLFP Acting General Secretary Duminda Dissanayake, was yesterday fixed for today (16) to deliver its order regarding the injunction order.

The case was yesterday taken up before Colombo Chief District Judge Sandun Vithana to deliver order regarding the maintainability of the case and after considering the facts presented by both parties, the Colombo District Judge ordered to continue the case and present the submissions over the case to consider the issuance of the injunction order.

When the case was yesterday taken up before Court, President’s Counsel Chandaka Jayasundara appearing for the petitioner informed the court that according to the constitution of the SLFP, no one who is not a member of the SLFP and who is a member of another party has not hold the legal power to be appointed to a position in the party.
