Over 120,000 tourist arrivals in early Nov.
Sri Lanka has welcomed 120,961 tourists in the first 20 days of November, bringing the total number of arrivals this year to 1,741,676.
This marks a significant increase from last year’s total of 1,487,303 visitors. India remains the leading market, contributing 26,717 visitors, which represents 22.1% of the market share. As the winter season begins and more international flights land in Sri Lanka, the country has also seen substantial numbers from Russia with 20,157 visitors (16.7%), Germany with 9,444 (7.8%), and the United Kingdom with 7,715 (6.4%).
From January to November 20, tourist arrivals from India reached 349,690, followed by the Russian Federation with 157,756, the United Kingdom with 154,385, and Germany with 113,687.
China, ranking fifth, brought in 110,115 tourists, showing less impact compared to other leading countries.
