Over 3000 people arrested in connection with May 9 violence

The Police have so far arrested 3215 people in connection with the violent incidents that took place across the island on May 9.

“Of them, 1176 people are still in remand custody,” said the Police Media Spokesperson’s Office. The number of complaints received by the Police regarding assaults and arson on and around May 9 is 858. The Police say that further arrests will be made while identifying the suspects.
