“When applying for passports in the normal way, twenty thousand rupees were charged for the one day service. Under normal procedure passports will be issued within two weeks. I mean not the online method. There are three-day and 15-day methods in the online system. Sometimes we can’t call the phone number given after submitting the application online and paying the money. The data is incorrect. When that happens, they have to talk to them somehow and fix it. The phone numbers given are incorrect. Or if the e-mail was sent to the given e-mail address, it was not checked. In such cases, there are delays,” Karunathilaka said.
