Pakistan ‘A’ beat India ‘A’ to win 8th Lawyers Cricket WC

Pakistan ‘A’ won the 8th edition of the Lawyers Cricket World Cup by defeating India ‘A’ by seven wickets at the Sinhaleese Sports Club ground on Saturday (6). In the Plate final played at the LRDC ground Nawala India ‘B’ beat Bangladesh ‘A’ by 23 runs.

India ‘A invited to bat first in the 35 overs per side game were restricted to 115 in 29.2 overs. Aditya Kumar Archiya scored 36 while Aravind Vekatesh Reddy (19) and Rohit Raj Pal (16) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures. Safdar Ali captured 3/13 while Khalid Sohail and Muhammed Usman captured two wickets each. In the chase, Muzaffer Hussain’s 50 not out off 50 balls and Muhammed Fazil’s 51 not out off 47 balls took the game away from India with seven wickets in hand and 13.2 overs remaining.

India ‘B’ had the consolation of winning the Plate final defeating Bangladesh ‘A’ by 23 runs at the LRDC ground Nawala.

Forty plus scores from Madhusudan Kalantri and Kartik Veerabsdhu helped India ‘B’ to a score of 180/7 in the 25 over per side game while their bowlers were able to defend it.
