The Mount Lavinia Divisional Crime Investigation Division yesterday said that three persons who entered the room of a masseur, threatened to kill her with a pointed knife, tied her hands and feet, sexually assaulted her and robbed her of gold and money, have been arrested.The owner of the massage parlour who is the mastermind of this robbery is also among those arrested. The other suspects are a bus conductor and a mason.
The police found three mobile phones, a pointed knife, Rs.35,000 in cash, the clothes and shoes the suspects were wearing at the time, and the fake key used to open the door of the room. The masseur were staying in a room on the third floor of the building where the massage parlour is located. The lengthy questioning of the suspect revealed that the massuer was wearing a necklace worth around 10 pounds and that he had planned to rob it. He had brought down two persons residing in Kandy region for the robbery by promising them Rs.50,000 each.He has also promised them to provide all facilities to commit the robbery. When these two persons had arrived at Mount Lavinia, they have been given a key to open the door and a knife to intimidate her.The suspect is to be produced before a magistrate.
