The fourth Bay of Bengal Maritime Dialogue in Colombo of the Pathfinder series of dialogues was held recently at the Cinnamon Grand, Colombo.
Experts and researchers discussed matters related to the governance of the Bay of Bengal marine area, its crisis management, sustainable fisheries and management of disasters that could arise.
In addition to those from countries around the Bay of Bengal, ambassadors and scholars from Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, China, Egypt, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, Turkey and Korea participated in this event.
The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue of Switzerland sponsored the event organised by the Pathfinder Foundation.
On the invitation of the founder of the Pathfinder organization Milinda Moragoda, the Chairman of the Indian foundation Ram Madhav delivered the keynote address, while BIMSTEC General Secretary Indra Mani Pandey addressed the initial session.
