Pavithra Heshani the athlete turned netball player from Kurunegala
Netball player and Athlete, Member of the All Island School Games Netball Champion Team, and the All Island under 20 Milo Super Champion Team Pavithra Heshani Kariyawasam has brought honour and immense glory to Holy Family Convent Kurunegala with her deeds in Netball.

Pavithra who hails from Bulupitiya, Humiya Kurunegala was bom on April 18 2005 and admitted to Holy Family Convent Kurunegala and when she was in grade four and five she
participated in the team events at the inter house sports meets and her Parents Gamini Kariyawasam and Dilhani Hettiarachchi decided that she should take up to Netball and handed her over to the School Netball Coaches Mrs.Amalka and Ananda Wannithilleke and her first attempt was the Milo under 12 tournament and her school came up to Second Best Eight.
At the school sports meet she did 4×100, 4×400 and 4×800 and her team won places and participated for the Divisional Meet and in 2020 sports meet she did Discus and Putt Shot and came first in Discus throw Then her school took part in the Milo Netball tournament in the under 13 age group in 2017 and they emerged Champions
Her school participated in the Jenny Green Memorial Netball Tournament organized by Girls High School Kandy and they were among the Best Eight Schools. Same year they received a tour to Malaysia for the 27 th Bola Jaring USM Peenang International Tournament and it was a fine exposure for Pavithra. Her school participated for the lower tournaments and swept the board and participated for the All Island under 15 Milo tournament and they clinched the title and also they won the championships at the North Western Schools Netball Tournament and the Schools tournament at Kuliyapitiya.
They were the under 16 Runner up at the 2020 National Sports Festival Netball Tournament held at Kuliyapitiya and in 2022 they were the All Island Super 16 Milo Champions by defeating more fancied Musaeus College Colombo and in the recently held Zonal Tournament they were the champions. They are receiving all the support and help from the Old Girls Union.
