PC’s wife slits throat in Police station over illicit affair

A Police Constable’s wife on Monday had slit her throat with a blade inside the Valachchenai Police station saying that she wanted to be with another

Police Constable working in the Valachchenai Police station with whom she was having an illicit affair.

A senior Police officer said that the woman was a mother of four children. Her husband is a Police Constable attached to Kalavanchikudi Police Station.

It is reported that she had an affair with a constable who worked at Kalavanchikudi Police station for some time.

After the constable’s husband came to know about it he had also lodged a complaint with the Kalavanchikudi Police about it.

Accordingly, the Police Constable who had an affair with the woman was transferred to the Valachchenai Police station with effect from June 2.It is said that after the transfer, the constable had also stopped the affair with the woman.

Police say that on Sunday this Police constable was going to a hotel near the police station with another constable when the wife of the Kalavanchikudi Police constable came and suddenly hugged him on the road.

The constable had complained the matter to the OIC of the Valachchenai Police Station noting that the woman was harassing him.

Meanwhile, the woman had got herself admitted to the Valachchenai hospital and had lodged a complaint with the Police saying that she was assaulted by the constable.

However, she had subsequently come to the Valachchenai Police station on Monday and slit her throat with a blade, stating that she wanted to be the constable with whom she was having an affair. She has only received minor injuries.
