Peumi Pharma Group celebrates 40 years

Peumi Pharma Group of Companies celebrated their 40th anniversary, recently with a special thanksgiving mass, at the church of Queen of Angels Rawathawatta, Moratuwa.

Primali Peiris, after working at The State Pharmaceuticals Corporation of Sri Lanka, founded the company in 1983 with his wife Tennyson Peiris who still functions as Director Finance..

The group then created several other companies and today they have six companies, Peumi Pharmaceuticals, Peumi Pharma Imports (Pvt) Ltd, Peumi Pharma Distributors, Peumi Pharma R.M International, Peumi Pharma E.M International and Peumi Pharmaceuticals and Groceries

Director, Marketing and Business development, Stanley Welgampola, with his log years of experience both in The State Pharmaceutical Corporation and leading private sector, has too made a major contribution to the growth and sustenance of this company.

“At present we are actively engaged with another reputed company in the importing of life-saving injectables used in major life-saving surgical procedures,” an official from the company said.

Having begun as a family group of Companies, we have over the years developed and matured into a network of Pharmaceutical companies, actively involved in the distribution of reputed and market leading products. “Our main clientele involves all the well-established leading, private Hospitals and Pharmacies. This includes, the most reputed and consumer trusted leading Super Markets in Colombo and suburbs, with 45 employees.”

At present, the entire management of the Company has been handed over to my eldest son Lahiru Peiris , currently functioning as the M.D/ CEO of the Company
