Pilgrims inconvenienced at Tomlin Park entrance in Kandy
For the convenience of the pilgrims who come to worship the Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, the upper floor of the Tomlin Park, was built with the help of the World Bank. Pilgrims and the other shopkeepers are facing inconveniences as the businessman who obtained this premises from the Kandy Municipal Council on lease to run a restaurant does not allow even the pilgrims to enter through the entrance gate.
While a person was employed by the Kandy Muncipal Council for the security of the building, the keys of the elevator and even the keys of the generator have been handed over by the Muncipal authorities to an associate of this businessman.
Because of this, no one can use the elevator and the pilgrims cannot enter the section reserved for food. However, Municipal officials follow a silent policy in this regard.
