Police curfew imposed in seven WP Police Divisions

Police curfew imposed in seven Police Divisions in the Western Province (WP) with effect from 9 p.m. yesterday. Accordingly Police curfew will be effective in Negombo, Kelaniya, Nugegoda, Mount Lavinia, Colombo North, South and the Central Police Division until further notice, said a communiqué issued under the hand of Inspector General of Police C.D. Wickremaratne.

All people residing in these divisions should stay at their homes and legal action would be taken against those who are involved in the violation of police curfew. Travelling through the area where the Police curfew is in force will be strictly prohibited and alternative routes are requested to be used for the purpose.
