Political instability reason for economic decline – Sajith

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa says political instability is the reason for the country’s economic collapse.

The Opposition Leader said that it was not possible to say how long the people of this country would have to face this economic instability.

Addressing the media in Colombo yesterday, he said that nepotism and crony capitalism had put the country into difficulty.

“There are many queues including gas queues, fuel queues and milk powder queues in the country. Meanwhile, Bills which do not meet people’s aspiration are brought through the backdoor.”

Premadasa further stated that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has issued statements at a time when there are allegations that he and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe have influenced certain legislation and that this has been done at a diplomatic level.
