Poppy sales to uplift welfare of war heroes’ families
The Ranaviru Welfare Association has designated November as a month to sell poppies in honour of Poppy Day, observed on November 11.
The Association will organise poppy sales across the country throughout the month and invite the public to support this initiative by purchasing poppies.
Each year, the Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen’s Association observes Poppy Day to commemorate the courageous soldiers who sacrificed their lives in Sri Lanka’s internal conflicts over the past thirty years.
Proceeds from poppy sales will be directed towards the welfare of the families of these war heroes.
