Possible afternoon thunderstorms forecast

The Department of Meteorology says that showers will occur at several places in most provinces of the island, after 2:00 p.m., there may be scattered rains or thunderstorms. Heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces and in Galle and Matara districts. Showers will occur in coastal areas of Eastern province and in Hambantota district, during the morning too.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Central and Uva provinces during the morning.
