Potta Naufer tests positive

Mohamed Niyas Naufer alias Potta Naufer, who has been sentenced to death and is being held in the Boossa High Security Prison, has been infected with the Coronavirus.

He was taken to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital for an examination for a Kidney ailment and an Antigen Rapid Test there had confirmed that he was infected with the Coronavirus, Prisons Commissioner (Administration and Rehabilitation) Chandana Ekanayake said

He has been transferred to the Welikada Prison Hospital for further treatment, Ekanayake said.

Potta Naufer was sentenced to death for the killing of High Court Judge Sarath Ambepitiya.
