Power mafia will benefit from emergency purchases – Sajith
Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said that the Government does not care about the farmers who deal with the earth.
The Opposition Leader said that due to the lack of proper water management and the Government’s lack of proper forecast in this regard, even the Cabinet has decided that there is a water problem without any understanding and that the farmers cannot be given water.
Premadasa said that there will be a problem in power generation soon and therefore private purchases will have to be made, and a hasty purchase is a departure from the tender system and there will be misappropriation of money involved in it.He said that many people, including people who run the diesel mafia and organisations that supply electricity using fuel, are preparing to make commissions out of dollar chunks by misusing this emergency situation.
The Opposition Leader said this while participating in the delivery of the 74th bus to Nochchiyagama Vidya Adarsha Maha Vidyalaya yesterday (02) under the Sakwala programme. The value of this bus is Rs.5 million.
