Prabash who was born on 23 rd February 2001was admitted to Sri Sumangala College in 2008.
When he was in Grade 3 he participated for the school inter house sports meet and did 50 and 75 metres and came first and his relay team took part in the 4×100 relay event and came second. When he was under 8 he took part in 50, 75 and 4×50 metre relay event and came first and he took part at the divisional and came third in 100 metres and school relay team came second.
When he was in Grade 7 he was selected to the under 13 Division One team and came under Harsha Srinath and in the first year he got 150 runs and in his second year he passed the 200 run mark with two half centuries and captaining the team he collected 250 runs with two fifties.
Then in the following year they played for the under 15 team he passed the 450 run mark with a century and two fifties and played for the Prima Cup for Kalutara District and in the following year captaining the team he scored 400 runs with three fifties and captained the District Team.
His first year in the first eleven was in 2017 as an under 15 player and passed the 150 run mark and he played the full season in the next year and collected 300 runs and he played against their arch rivals Moratu Vidyalaya in the big match and one dayer and he won the Man of the Match Award in the Big Match. In the next year he passed the 600 run mark with a century and three fifties and he was the Best Batsman in the limited over game. Due to Covid in 2020 they participated in eight matches and scored 202 runs with a century and a fifty and his school won the All Island Division Two Tier “A” title and the following year too there was a one day tournament and he scored 270 runs and he was the highest run getter in the tournament and this year he passed the 280 run mark with two fifties and a century and his school became the Division Two Champions and he was the highest run getter for the second successive year. Sumangalians played their 70 th Big Match and 29 th One Dayer against their arch rivals Moratu Vidyalaya and Big Match was drawn while the Limited Over was won by Sumangalians under Prabash Jayasekera.
