Pre-school Teacher dies after throat slit by motorbike rider
A 25-year-old pre-school teacher was killed by a motorbike rider who slit her throat while she was on her way to participate at the school’s New Year celebrations. The victim has been identified as Anjali Chapa Seneviratne, a resident of Muruthalawa. Peradeniya Police said a person who came on a motorbike had slit the pre-school teacher’s throat near the Ginigena cemetery.
The injured teacher had gone to her aunt’s house asking for assistance. Police investigations have revealed that the teacher had been killed about 700 metres away from her home.
Information has been revealed that the pre-school teacher was talking to someone on her mobile phone while leaving home and the Police are conducting investigations to identify the suspect.
The young woman was admitted to Ilukthenna Hospital with serious injuries in the throat area where she succumbed.
Police who suspect that a love affair might have led to the murder is conducting further investigations
