Predatory teacher from Kaluthara arrested

The Police has stated that a private tuition teacher who has allegedly assaulted and sexually harassed female students in Kaluthara was arrested today morning (11 May). It is reported that at least 16 students have been a victim of this predatory teacher.

The suspect was arrested when he came to the Kalutara Division Child and Women Abuse Prevention Bureau to give a statement following a complain by his wife.

According to the Police, 16 video recordings of girls being sexually harassed by the suspect has been discovered on the suspects laptop. Currently, investigations are underway to identify the victimized girls.

Further investigations are being conducted to find other incidences related to the suspect particularly targeting the classes that suspect has conducted in various places.

The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Kaluthara Magistrate court.
