President Fulfils Demands of Anamaduwa Jayasuriya Maha Vidyalaya Students
The students of Jayasooriya Maha Vidyalaya, Anamaduwa recently visited President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Presidential Secretariat and had a cordial conversation.
Despite his busy schedule, the President made time for the children, inquiring about their educational activities. The students shared some of the shortcomings of their school with him.
Addressing their concerns, President Wickremesinghe took note of their request to complete the RO Plant system, currently under construction by the Navy, as the school’s drinking water source is very brackish. He instructed the officers to proceed with the necessary work.
The President also assured that the students’ demands for smart classrooms with adequate facilities, access to computers and a dedicated building for the Aesthetics department will be met.
He praised the students of Jayasooriya Maha Vidyalaya, Anamaduwa for their academic excellence despite the challenges posed by wild elephants and extended his blessings for their future educational endeavours.
Following this, the students met with Sagala Ratnayaka, Senior Adviser on National Security and Chief of Presidential Staff and Saman Ekanayake, Secretary to the President for a friendly conversation.
As per the President’s directives, emphasis was placed on planning future development activities for the school, along with programs aimed at enhancing students’ sports and artistic abilities.
Mr. Lakshman Abeysinghe, the Principal of Jayasooriya Maha Vidyalaya, Anamaduwa along with some teachers and parents, were also present at this occasion.
