President garnering world support to revive country – UNP
While Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake are engaged in a race making various statements with the aim of gathering votes, President Ranil Wickremesinghe is engaged in visits and discussions trying to get the support of foreign countries, to revive the country’s economy, Kaduwela UNP chief organizer Binara Jayawardena said.
Jayawardena said the President participated in the 78th United Nations General Assembly and the G-77 Summit held in Cuba and achieved great success for the country. After meeting and discussing with the President of the World Bank, Ajay Banga, the friendship we have with the International Monetary Fund and the success of the implementation of those efforts were evaluated. The World Bank is considering the assistance we need further”.
“In the discussion held with the President of Iran, he has confirmed support for the completion of the Uma Oya project and his participation in it. Cuba has stated that it expects to support us in the fields of health and education and expects to support it in the future,” he said.
