President Sirisena’s actions destabilised country – UNP
Speaking to journalists in Colombo he said the action taken by former President Maithripala Sirisena on October 26, 2018 had created insecurity in the country. He said this climate of insecurity had resulted in the Easter Sunday bombings.
“October 26 is a day that the people of this country should remember. A government that managed the country’s economy, ensured security, strengthened the health and education sectors and improved the living standards of the people was unlawfully defeated. It was on this day that the former President who came from Pulathisipura appointed the person who he called corrupt as the Prime Minister and changed the government which was democratically elected,” he said.
He said the government which came to power on January 8, 2015 presented a Budget on January 23, 2015 to reduce the prices of essential commodities, Gas and fuel prices and increase salaries of public servants.
