Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Vanni District Parliamentarian Noha Radhalingam on Sunday said in Vavuniya that the discussion between the TNA and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in Colombo scheduled for today (March 15) will not be an unconditional discussion.
Responding to a number of questions raised by journalists after a ceremony in Vavuniya, the Parliamentarian said that the TNA had not received anything from anyone.
“We need to discuss with the President the issues being discussed at the UN Human Rights Council and the proposals put forward by the TNA,” he said.
The Parliamentarian added that external forces should not be allowed to play games by exploiting the Tamil issue in the North and East.
“We consider it very important that the TNA have an opportunity to hold discussions with the President before the visit of the Indian Prime Minister to Sri Lanka”.
“Next, we have to discuss the issues of the people with the President. We also need to talk about a programme to lift them out of economic poverty. This is a very crucial moment. In such an environment, the discussion with the TNA and the President will undoubtedly be a very important and crucial discussion.”
