President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is set to address two public rallies on Sunday as the National People’s Power (NPP) marks two years since coming to power.
The rallies will be held under the theme “අපේ ආණ්ඩුවට වසර දෙකයි – රටට සුබයි” (“Two Years of Our Government — Good for the Country”).
According to an announcement by the NPP, the first rally will be held in Bulathsinhala at 2 p.m. on September 6, followed by another rally in Beruwala at 3.30 p.m.
President Dissanayake is scheduled to address both gatherings.
The rallies come as the NPP marks two years since its rise to national power following Dissanayake’s victory at the September 2024 presidential election.
The events in Bulathsinhala and Beruwala are expected to focus on the government’s performance during its first two years and its plans for the period ahead. (Newswire)
