President to open Hilton Yala Resort on Aug. 19

The much awaited luxury property Hilton Yala Resort at the Yala Wildlife Tourism Zone at Palatupana will be opened on August 19 by President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The hotel built by Melwa Hotels and Resorts offers 42 family-friendly villas, rooms and suites all with their own pools, spa and unique dining experiences. Director Melwa, Muruganathan Pillai earlier told ‘Daily News Business’ that they will construct this hotel in Yala with an investment of over US$ 16 million.

The Melwa Hotels also built the Hilton Negombo consisting of 141 rooms inclusive of superior, deluxe and suite rooms.

In addition the group also signed agreements for Hilton Hotels in Kandy, Kosgoda, Nuwara-Eliya and Colombo International Airport bringing the total number to six.

A 100% Sri Lankan owned family business dedicated to providing quality steel products, Melwa group has also invested over Rs. one billion in Pharmaceutical manufacturing. (SS)
