Presidential Election won thanks to SLFP support – Former Minister

During the last Presidential Election, several top persons now in the Government visited Duminda Dissanayaka’s residence in Anuradhapura and requested in our presence to support him at the election campaign. Duminda said that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) would work at its maximum for making the Gotabaya Rajapaksa victorious, former Minister Tissa Karaliyadda said.

He was speaking at a recent SLFP meeting in the Kahatagasdigiliya Pradeshiya Sabha (PS) Auditorium.

Former Minister Karaliyadda also said that those who came to power with the support of the SLFP seemed to have kicked the ladder preventing others from climbing to the top. “Those who now treat us scornfully and maliciously are on top positions of the Government thanks to the SLFP, which they have forgotten. The SLFP was highly instrumental in winning the election,” the former Minister said.

Former Minister Weerakumara Dissanayake said that the people were questioning whether the Government would break down shortly. “Some powerful persons in the Government living in an Utopia and think that the country is self-sufficient.”
