President’s proposal for Bill giving legal validity to Public-Private Partnership gets Cabinet nod
The National Agency for Public-Private Partnership expected to work jointly with the international organisations in respect of creating and managing public-private partnership programmes or projects and to identify such programmes and implement them in collaboration with government agencies, Cabinet Spokesman Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana said.
He was speaking at the weekly Cabinet media briefing held yesterday at the Government Information Department.
The Minister further said that the legal validity for such agencies should be given to run the agency more effectively and a legal framework should also be prepared in respect of relevant partnership agreements.
Furthermore, the Cabinet approved the proposal presented by the President in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies to instruct the legal Draftsman for preparation of a Bill for the aforesaid function.
