Priority for Sri Lankan students – Chinese Ambassador
The Chinese Government will give priority to Sri Lankan students following undergraduate courses in China once the COVID-19 pandemic is under control, Chinese Ambassador in Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong said.
According to statistics, around 6,000 Sri Lankan students are following various undergraduate courses in China and most of these students had returned home following the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is reported that a significant number of these students are facing difficulties when obtaining Chinese visas for various reasons.
The Chinese Ambassador said that Sri Lankan students will definitely be given priority to study in China.
“Not only Sri Lankan students, but students around the world were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. No sooner the pandemic is under control, Sri Lankan students will be afforded the opportunity to continue their studies as usual,” the Ambassador added.
