Prison guard peddling cannabis arrested

A prison guard working in Pallekele Dumbara Prison has been arrested by the Police with 1100 mg of cannabis in Warapitiya area.

Police said that the suspect was travelling to Warapitiya on a motorcycle while on duty and cannabis was found in his possession during an inspection. It is suspected that he came out while on duty to take cannabis for an inmate.

The 27-year-old prison guard, a resident of Matale Yatawatta area will be produced in Theldeniya Court.
