Probe into dud cheques for Rs. 18 Mn

The Special Crime Investigation Unit of Moneragala Division has started an investigation to arrest a businessman from Bandarawela Ambathanne who bought rice from a rice mill owner in Sevanagala and gave dud cheques for Rs. 18.3 million.

The businessman had given eight cheques to the rice mill owner for the stock of rice he bought, but all cheques had been returned by the bank due to lack of sufficient funds.
