Probe into group posting LTTE content on internet

The Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) yesterday reported to Colombo Additional Magistrate Pasan Amarasinghe that they are investigating a group of people who are working with international terrorist organizations and are posting extremist views on the Internet.

The TID told court that they have started the investigation under the Prevention of Terrorism Act and the group is communicating its propaganda through mobile phones.

They also reported to the court that these people who share information with each other on these sites with extremist ideas are working closely with international terrorist organizations.

The TID has also informed the court that these people have propagated their extremist terrorist ideas through those websites, stating that the time has come to restore LTTE terrorism that was eradicated after the end of the 30-year war in this country.

Accordingly, investigations are being conducted through the mobile phone numbers used by the people who run these extremist websites, TID officers told court.
