Probe into spa death

A customer had reportedly died while receiving treatment at a Spa in Thalawathugoda, Police Spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana said.

SDIG Rohana said that the victim has been identified as a 36-year-old resident of Homagama.

He said that the man was receiving treatment at the Thalawathugoda Spa in the Talangama Police area when he fell ill and died on admission to hospital.

SDIG Rohana said that statements had been recorded from several witnesses including the wife of the deceased and investigations had revealed that the man was a drug addict.

The Police Spokesman said that a post-mortem will be conducted to identify the cause of death.

The Talangama Police are conducting investigations into the death and had informed the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court and the magisterial inquest was held on Thursday.
