Probe on Galle Face activists occupying three hotel rooms forcibly

A police investigation is underway with the help of the Intelligence Unit regarding information received about a group of activists from ‘Aragalaya’ allegedly occupying three rooms of a five star hotel in Colombo forcibly for several days.

A senior police officer said that a police team asked the management of the hotel about it several times, but they did not provide proper information in this regard.

The officer said that investigations are being conducted with the help of the Intelligence unit about the information received with regard to the above. The official also said that the managers of the respective hotel may not be saying anything out of fear that they will be targeted.

The officer further said the police will check the security camera system of the hotel after investigating the proper information in this regard and conduct further investigations.
