Programmes to mark World White Cane Day

World White Cane Day falls on October 12 this year. (Which usually takes place on second Thursday of October every year).

Accordingly, Lanka Foundation for the Blind has organised to celebrate the White Cane Day in Sri Lanka on October 15 this year. The programme starts at 10.00 a.m. in the New UC Shopping Complex, Negombo Road, Katunayake. Arrangements have been made to distribute dry ration packages valued at Rs. 7,500 each for 500 families of blind and visually impaired persons.

Also distribution of white cane for each visually impaired person and a health camp organised by the courtesy of a private hospital, will take place on the same day.

Blind Society was established to look into the affairs of the blind and visually impaired persons of our society which comprises over 500 members.
