Public seminar on medicine crisis tomorrow

A public seminar on ‘Crisis in medicinal drugs: Causes, consequences and potential remedies’ organized by the Sri Lanka Medical Association will be held tomorrow (1) at 12 noon at the Lionel Memorial Auditorium, Wijerama House, Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 7. SLMA President and Consultant Community physician Dr. Vinya Ariyaratne will speak on ‘Medicines crisis and the people’ while former WHO Advisor and Emeritus Professor Krishantha Weerasuriya will speak on ‘Why do medicines need regulations’. Pharmacology Professor of the Colombo University Priyadarshini Galappaththy will also deliver a speech on ‘Reasons for medicines crisis’ while Consultant physician Dr. Ananda Wijewickrema on ‘Medicines crisis – proposed solutions’. Consultant physician M. K. Ragunathan will give a summary in Tamil.
