Pujith Jayasundara nominated for IGP
Senior DIG Pujith Jayasundara has been nominated by a majority of the members of the Constitutional Council, to be named as the 34th Inspector General of the Sri Lanka Police, it is reported.
Mr Jayasundara has been the Senior DIG for the Western Province from February, 2015 and is a product of Dharmaraja College, Kandy and has a B.Com (Special) degree from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
Senior DIG Jayasundara was born on the 15th of March 1960, and underwent schooling at Bogamuwa Thaksala Maha Vidyalaya and Ibbagamuwa Madhya Maha Vidyalaya before moving to Dharmaraja.
Joining the Police force as an Assistant Superintendent of Police on the 20th of May 1985, Mr. Jayasundara was promoted as a Superintendent of Police in 1996 a Senior Superintendent of Police in 2005 and as a Deputy Inspector General of Police in the year 2010.
