Rahula to host 5th Manimaran – Wijesiriwardena Trophy Cricket encounter

Rahula College Matara will host Hartley College Point Pedro for the 5th edition of the’ Battle of the Ends’ at the Uyanwatta stadium Matara on December 16. The ‘Battle of the Ends’ between two schools located in the northern and southern tips of the island is played for the ‘Manimaran – Wijesiriwardena Trophy’ in honor of the two sponsors Ramakrishnan Manimaran and Lal Wijesiriwardena both illustrious cricketers of Hartley College and Rahula College who are now domiciled in Australia.

The first match in the series was hosted by Rahula College at the Uyanwatta Stadium in 2017 and Rahula lead the series four games to nil.

The Manimaran – Wijesiriwardena trophy cricket encounter is organized jointly by the Rahula Old Cricketers Association (ROCA), Hartlian Sports Club and the Old Boys Association of Hartley College, to foster friendship and goodwill between the two schools.
